QLD Chapter CPD event: Security of Payment - Update

Join us for an in-person event in which our presenter, Russell Welsh FAIQS CQS, will provide an overview of the security of payment landscape within Australia.

Security of payment legislation was first introduced in Australia in 1999. Subsequently all states and territories adopted their own version of security of payment legislation. Differences in the legislation between jurisdictions are substantial. Attempts at harmonisation have been made, but what is the state of play today? Does it matter?

When answering these key questions, Russell will also explore the role of the QS and AIQS in the security of payment process.

Russell is a certified quantity surveyor, chartered quantity surveyor, chartered project management surveyor, and civil engineering surveyor, specialising in dispute resolution.

Russell has more than 50 years industry experience internationally including 36 years in Australia

He is an adjudicator in all states and territories and over the last 20 years has managed two ANA’s. ABC DRS is authorised to appoint adjudicators in New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia.
