The New Terrain of Latent Conditions Claims
This joint seminar with the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES) will focus on new technologies that improve early-stage design and decision making, and the flow-on effect that this could have on latent conditions claims.
Latent conditions claims and associated cost over-runs continue to plague the construction industry in Australia. A recent independent audit of the $120 billion Federal infrastructure pipeline found $33 billion in forecast cost over-runs.
Latent condition terminology in contracts is almost 50 years old. Recent case law has moved the boundaries for both client and contractor - this seminar will review those developments and suggest new approaches to latent condition risk.
Come along and hear from our two experts about how new technologies have the potential to tangibly improve project delivery and outcomes for communities around Australia that are desperate for infrastructure.
