The Generations of Quantity Surveyors (QS) have evolved enormously as a result of global technological change, and so too have the perspectives, perceptions and expectations that are directed towards our industry.
While the QS industry strives to attract and retain young talent, we must first seek to understand these young people and respond to their excitement, as well as address any concerns they may have in joining us. Are we ignorant of their career goals? Are we are not able to accommodate their requests? Or perhaps our young talent are asking for too much?
The purpose of this webinar is to examine these questions, and to create a platform for understanding that bridges the gap among our QS generations. We must be prepared to facilitate our young talent to excel and elevate to the next level in this industry, notwithstanding the continual transformation of the entire construction industry including the stakeholders’ critical development and demands.
We must begin to initiate healthy change. It’s now or never!
About the speaker:
 | Stanley Chang, MAIQS, CQS Stanley Chang graduated in 2007 from University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Upon graduation he has been working in a consultancy firm in Hong Kong SAR and thereafter relocated to various places in Mainland China. He returned to South East Asia in 2012 and permanently set up his family in Singapore. He is currently a Council Member of International Chapter Region 1 of Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS), Assistant Hon. Secretary of Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers (SISV) for 2023-2025, and a Professional Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). He is also a Certified Quantity Surveyor for AIQS and has been elected as a Director for AIQS for a two-year period commencing from end November 2022. Stanley joined Rider Levett Bucknall in Singapore in 2018 and currently is an Associate for the company. He is conversant with local contracting and building services practices, works closely with client representatives and consultants within South East Asia. His professional expertise comprises all aspects of construction cost management and quantity surveying services including cost planning, financial reporting, tender documentation, interim valuations, and final accounts. |
