Webinar: Managing Rising Costs During the Construction Phase (Recording Option)
Managing costs throughout the construction phase can be challenging and this places an enormous responsibility on Quantity Surveyors who play a key role in managing these costs. Over the past couple of years, the rising cost of materials, COVID-19 shutdowns, supply chain problems and labour shortages have created a 'perfect storm' now battering the construction industry. This, coupled with fixed-cost contracts between developers, construction firms and sub-contractors has spelled doom for many construction companies.
During this webinar, we will talk about managing rising costs during the construction phase, including a brief introduction to what these costs are. We’ll review each of the causes that have created these issues facing the industry. Furthermore, we will assess the impact rising costs have had on construction companies. We'll also look at some of the options available to reduce the pressure being felt by people working in the construction industry. Finally, we will examine some of the tools in RIB CostX that can help to manage these rising costs.
