On June 22, 2023, the Federal Parliament passed the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Protecting Worker Entitlements) Bill 2023. This Bill restructures the parental leave provisions within the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth). These reforms are aimed at providing stronger access to unpaid parental leave (UPL), and they came into effect on July 1, 2023.
