Webinar: Calculating Embodied Carbon in Construction Estimating and Takeoffs (Recording Option)
The Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) sector is one of the biggest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions.
In 2022, the International Energy Agency (IEA) published that the built environment generates 40% of annual global CO2 emissions (Architecture 2030). Of those emissions, 27% are attributed to building operations, known as operational carbon. Meanwhile, building and infrastructure materials and the construction processes used to erect a building account for 13% of emissions, or embodied carbon.
Join our speakers, Sumit Oberoi (APAC Construction Industry Strategy Manager) and Michael Orr (APAC Takeoff & Assemble Product Specialist) from Autodesk to learn about:
- Operational carbon emissions and renewable energy initiatives
- The Embodied Carbon in Construction Calculator (EC3). The EC3 Calculator can assist in the calculation of embodied carbon in construction projects. By integrating Autodesk Takeoff with the EC3 calculator, quantity surveyors can get a detailed analysis of the carbon footprint of their construction
- How the EC3 Calculator helps users choose carbon-smart materials
- How to use EC3 in 2D and 3D Takeoffs
- Facilitating more data-driven conversations between owners and designers
After watching this webinar, you will be have a greater ability to make decisions based on environmental impact and to start meeting sustainability goals.
