Join us for the launch of the Expert Witness Information Paper in Melbourne which aims to demystify the complex world of the Quantum Expert Witness, and to inspire the next generation of quantity surveyors to explore the potential career opportunities.

The evening will feature an introduction to the Information Paper from Paul McArd FAIQS, Managing Director at Accura Consulting with testifying experience dealing with construction disputes.

With real-worked experience, Paul will then give an overview of his journey to becoming one of the most in-demand Quantum Experts through his career in quantity surveying. 

Alex McKellar of HFW, will then talk through some case studies showcasing the interplay between the expert witness and their place in the legal system before a court or tribunal.

The evening will end with an opportunity to expand your professional circle.

About the speakers:

Paul McArd FAIQS, CQS, Managing Director, Accura Consulting
Paul is a Certified and Chartered Quantity Surveyor with the Australian Insitute of Quantity Surveyors and Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors respectively. He is an accredited quantum expert by The Academy of Experts and has extensive experience as a quantum and technical expert working in Australia, SE Asia and the Middle East.
 

Alex McKellar, Partner, HFW
Alex advises on risk allocation, prepares contracts and advises on legal issues arising from all contractual aspects of project delivery.
He acts for clients in all aspects of dispute resolution including pre-dispute strategy, informal resolution and formal dispute resolution processes including adjudication, arbitration, expert determination and litigation. His legal passions include the effective management and mitigation of project risk and efficient, cost-effective and proportionate dispute resolution.
