Join us for the launch of the Expert Witness Information Paper which aims to demystify the complex world of the Quantum Expert Witness, and to inspire the next generation of quantity surveyors to explore the potential career opportunities.

The evening will feature an introduction to the Information Paper from Stephen Bolt, Quantum Expert at WT Partnership with testifying experience dealing with Building, Infrastructure, Oil & Gas and Mining disputes across Australia & New Zealand. 

With real-worked experience, Stephen will then give an overview of his journey to becoming one of the most in-demand Quantum Experts through his career in quantity surveying. 

Lucas Shipway, distinguished barrister at Greenway, will then talk through some case studies showcasing the interplay between the expert witness and their place in the legal system before a court or tribunal.

The evening will end with an opportunity to expand your professional circle.

About the speakers:

Stephen Bolt MAIQS, National Manager - Contracts, Claims and Dispute Services, WT Partnership
Stephen, a Member of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors and a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, has over 40 years of experience in cost management and dispute services. His expertise covers various construction sectors, including civil engineering, marine, infrastructure, building, mechanical, and electrical. Specialising in major infrastructure projects, Steve offers valuable services such as estimate validations, reporting, commercial and risk management, and project controls. He excels in construction dispute resolution, engaging in mediation, arbitration, adjudication, and litigation, serving as an advocate, independent expert, and testifying in court.
 

Lucas Shipway, Barrister, Greenway Chambers
Lucas Shipway specializes in complex infrastructure and engineering disputes, representing private and public clients in transportation, resources, and international arbitrations. He excels in product-liability, professional-negligence, and class actions with construction or infrastructure aspects. Recognised as a leading junior in construction and infrastructure in Australia, Lucas has an extensive background as a litigator at top firms.
