NSW CPD: un-QS Future Cities and Infrastructure

NSW CPD: un-QS Future Cities and Infrastructure
Is the infrastructure that we are designing and constructing in Australia today fit for the needs of our future cities?

Nick Deeks from WT Partnership draws upon his industry experience to discuss:

• population growth
• technology advancements
• innovation to accommodate.

Not just for the next 20 years, but for 50 or 100 years into the future!

About the Speaker Nick Deeks, Managing Director - WT Partnership
As our population continues to rapidly grow, Nick Deeks is a vocal advocate of embracing innovative long-term planning and technology to future proof our cities.
Nick is a highly talented, forward thinking leader who advocates for important real estate and infrastructure initiatives in Australia. With over 35 years in the property and construction industry, Nick is unafraid to say that the industry is in the dark ages and needs to change for the future of our cities.
He is currently the Managing Director of WT Partnership Australia, the nation’s largest independent quantity surveying and construction cost management consultancy, and joint chairman of WT’s international business. Under Nick’s leadership, WT has undergone a major strategic and cultural overhaul that led to revenue and headcount doubling. WT’s longlist of reputable clients includes Federal and State Government, Government agencies such as the Australian Defence Force, transport authorities, financiers, institutions, private developers, retail centre owners and foreign investors.
Nick’s desire to improve the business goes beyond the bottom line; he’s passionate about “future-proofing” our cities in the face of inevitable population growth. He firmly believes that our city planners need to have a long-term strategy that looks 100 years ahead, not 10 to 20 years ahead. To do this, Nick believes we need to embrace innovative building materials and techniques and new technologies including autonomous vehicles, drone technology, 3D printing and artificial intelligence to build smarter and more sustainably
