Deterministic contingency factors for estimates are subjective and driven by your organisation's internal preference. When challenged about the percentage allowances in their estimates, Quantity Surveyors may struggle to clearly communicate the reasons behind the percentages allowed.

This event aims to unpack the rationale behind contingency factors and dive a little deeper into causes that drive the contingency allowances and how range-based deterministic methods are utilised in the Civil sector to manage those causes. The presenter will then offer an explanation of how to translate these methods for Commercial project use.
