International Webinar

Please note: This is an international webinar and will take place at 7:00pm Sri Lankan time. The webinar access link will be emailed to registered attendees the day of the session.

Life Cycle Costing (LCC) and Circular Economy (CE) are two incredibly powerful and interconnected concepts in the construction industry.

LCC evaluates the total cost of a building or product throughout its lifespan, while CE aims to eliminate waste and keep resources in use for as long as possible.

By integrating these concepts, the construction industry can create more sustainable and economically viable projects. LCC is a comprehensive approach that evaluates the total cost of a building through its entire lifecycle.

The purpose of this CPD is to discuss the integration of LCC and CE, in the context of Construction. Implementation strategies will also be discussed, mainly focusing on design for disassembly, use of sustainable materials, optimising building operations, fostering circular supply chains and utilise building information modelling (BIM).

By understanding the principles of Life Cycle Costing and Circular Economy and applying the same to the construction project, we can create more sustainable, resilient, cost-effective and environmentally friendly buildings. This in turn will help to build a more sustainable future for generations to come.
