  • Understanding the new terminology introduced by FIDIC 1999 (and their complications as the same terminology previously existed, but with different meaning/definition under FIDIC-4th)
  • Shortcomings in the Priority of Documents
  • Absence of the requirement for Engineer’s impartiality
  • Some 40 other concerns in FIDIC 1999
  • Understanding the new Dispute Adjudication Board ('DAB') provisions

A presentation on AIQS Membership Pathways by Chief Operating Officer Catherine Squire will also be included as part of this event

About the speaker:

 


Prof. Indrawansa Samaratunga DSc LFAIQS, FRICS, FIQSSL, FCIArb, FCIOB, FCMI, FASI, FCABE

Prof. Indrawansa (Sam) Samaratunga is an esteemed Life Fellow of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS) and also a Fellow of RICS, CIOB and CIArb. His 56 year career in Quantity Surveying, Contract Administration and Dispute Resolution spans over 25 years in the UAE, 22 years in Oman and 9 years in Sri Lanka. He is a registered arbitrator with the Dubai International Arbitration Centre and the London Court of International Arbitration.

Prof. Sam was the first Middle East Representative when AIQS launched its first Middle East chapter some 17 years ago. Prof. Sam is a regular Speaker at CPD events. Over 6000 practitioners have been through his training programme series.
